O  -  OBSERVE

Be Aware of your surroundings at all times. A crowd of Patrons at an event is a fluid situation filled with many points of random intersection that you cannot control, only observe.

Know where the guests are and are coming from/going to. Be aware of the sliding surface, any changes that affect it (rain, gravel, spilled concessions, sticks, leaves), and how those changes will affect your performance.

Be aware of physical conditions that can hinder your performance or the safety of yourself or guests (fog, shadows, blind corners, stairs, curbs, wires, pipes, grating, etc.)

Be aware of things in your area that can be used to enhance your performance (hiding places, lighting and shadows, fog). Be observant for trouble making guests.

Be aware of guests that it is unsafe to slide around (injured, handicapped, elderly, etc.) and choose a target that they can observe and be entertained by without risk.

Being Observant gives you the information to make better choices. This lead to a better performance.
