As a rough guideline we estimate that an energetic slider will use one set of pads every two or three solid nights of haunt sliding on moderate pavement. For most shows or attractions that comes to approximately one set of pads per weekend plus one to two pairs of back up pads and an additional two to four sets for practice and training.
Less intense sliders, like those who do a lot of talking and crowd interaction, will go through pads at a slower rate.
Really intense sliders or those on very rough pavement can go through pads as quickly as once a night. Your mileage my vary
I recommend starting training early in the season to get an idea of how quickly pads will wear out with Your sliders at Your location. This way you can order an appropriate number of pads for your season.
And remember when the safety of a worn pad is in question replace it. A new set of pads is much cheaper than an emergency room visit or the loss of a performer on a show night. And extra pads at the end of a season mean a savings next season and an easier time practicing in the off-season

Standard Slider Knee Pads
ProTec Street Knee Pads are our favorite choice for slider knee pads. This is an incredible pad at a very economical price. The more you practice the better you get and with these pads you can practice all you want and be secure in your safety without breaking the bank.
This is an awesome multi-purpose pad, that can be used for any action sport. No fall is too rough for the ProTec Street pad, as the materials are of the highest grade. In addition to the knee pads’ durability, they are designed with a flexible and lightweight fabric so your performance won’t be inhibited when sliding or stunting.

ADDITIONAL PROTEC KNEE PADS
While we highly recommend the Protec Street Pads, we also offer their Park and Drop In pads. These are thicker pads at a higher price.
These pads have superior padding to the Street Pads, but they are better suited to skate park use not for heavy pavement sliding. But if you plan on doing any stunt sliding that is going to result in high drops or aerial acts, definitely take a look at these.
Park Knee Pads
Protec Park Pads feature a sleeker 2-ply anatomical EVA foam body to match the movements of skating and stunting. A lycra stretch interion keeps sweating to a minimum and comfort to a maximum. Velcro closures and a replaceable hard cap round out the impressive pad.
Park Pads are a very good protective pad. they are a step up from the street pads in mobility and padding, but I find that they are best for Park Skating, not necessarily for pavement sliding. The velcroed on caps can peel off when sliding on rough pavement, though they can immediately be put back on. A very good pad, especially for what it was designed for, but not my favorite pad for sliding.
Our Price: $34.95
Drop In Knee Pads
Protec Drop In Knee Pads are beefed up with gusseted stitching and friction/rip-resistant nylon, as well as leather accents in key wear areas. A new compression-molded memory foam interior takes impacts and keeps you ready for more. Velcro straps and a resiliant hard plastic cap rounds ou this top of the line pad.
These are truly awesome pads, and we are pleased to offer them. But even with their great construction and superior protection, I still recommend the street pads above as a primary slide pad, especially for beginners. These Pads are much thicker and while great for an experienced slider, a beginer might have more difficulties with them. If you want a superior protective pad and cost isn't a concern, get these. If you are starting off, I'd rather sell you three set of street pads that you can really practice on.
